1. 1Sikkim · East SikkimGangtok2,100 m, easy, 3–4 days.Sikkim's tidy hill capital — MG Marg, Rumtek monastery and Kanchenjunga on clear mornings.Best months: Mar, Apr, May, Oct, Nov, Dec · Why not: A busy town, not a mountain retreat — use it as a base.
2. 2Sikkim · West SikkimPelling2,150 m, easy, 3–4 days.A ridge town facing Kanchenjunga, with Pemayangtse monastery, Rabdentse ruins and a glass skywalk.Best months: Mar, Apr, Oct, Nov, Dec · Why not: Clouds hide the peak for days at a time outside October–December and March–April.
3. 3Sikkim · Namchi, South SikkimRavangla2,200 m, easy, 2–3 days.A ridge town with the giant Buddha Park, tea gardens below and Kanchenjunga views.Best months: Mar, Apr, May, Oct, Nov, Dec · Why not: A day or two is plenty.

6. 6Sikkim · West SikkimYuksom2,100 m, easy, 3–4 days.Sikkim's first capital — a quiet village of prayer flags, Dubdi monastery and the Khecheopalri lake nearby.Best months: Mar, Apr, May, Oct, Nov · Why not: Very little to do unless you like walking and quiet.
7. 7Sikkim · Pakyong, East SikkimZuluk & the Silk Route3,960 m, easy, 4–5 days.The zigzag Old Silk Route road through Zuluk, Thambi viewpoint and Kupup lake.Best months: Mar, Apr, May, Oct, Nov, Dec · Why not: Very basic homestays, permit-only, and snow can block the road in winter.
